Filofax Siena set up

About a week ago I spotted a Filofax Siena in Cinnamon for sale on one of the FaceBook planner pages. I was third in line and could not believe my luck when the other two people decided not to buy it. Naturally I sent the money there and then and 24 hours later the stunning Siena arrived on my doorstep!

The Siena comes in a dust bag, which could be used to keep it in your bag. I have never kept any of my planners in a planner bag as I use my planner multiple times a day and couldn't be bothered with taking it out and putting in back again each time I wanted to use it.

What a stunner! I was amazed at how soft and buttery it was. I think the scratch marks add to its character and tell a story of its life. I love the way the Siena looks and the Cinnamon colour is a rich brown and goes amazingly well with my Fossil Sydney Satchel in the dark brown colour.

I had an initial set up that I used for a while and then managed to get my hands on the June Planner Society kit which I thought would look amazing against the cinnamon leather of the Siena.

I made the dividers using paper, die cuts and tabs from the kit. I really enjoy making things for my planner as I feel it is more personal that way. I have ordered some dividers from an Etsy store and will incorporate them into my planner once they arrive.

I love this card from ChochoAndMimi on Etsy, they arrive with every order and I keep mine in a front pocket. The paperclip is from the June Planner Society Kit. I think they look gorgeous together!

Two Kate Spade Paper clips decorate the bottom pockets. One was in a lovely Happy Mail from a friend!

My first section is current things, meal plans, tracking and some today pages for those really busy days.

I use Sew Much Crafting inserts for my daily planning and it is these pages I decorate with stickers. I use the top box for appointments and none movable to do items and the bottom box for a to do list for that day.

I made a today marker from items in the Planner Society kit.

My next section is forward planning. In this section I have a fold out year at a glance calendar for both 2016 and 2017. Followed by a week on a page with notes from Just So Stationary.

These pages are great for weekly planning. I prefer week on one page to forward plan rather than month on two pages and there is more room for noting things down in a hurry. I don't decorate or colour code these pages and they can get quite messy. I don't really use the right hand page and am waiting for a Sewmuchcrafting order to arrive with two weeks on two pages included to use for forward planning until June 2017.

My next section is notes pages and I use various different makes of paper as it a rough notes section, I currently have Paperchase paper in there.

My next section is for all permanent lists and notes. It includes dates to remember, TV trackers, directions to people houses, bank information, medical appointment notes and medication details. I also have a world map just incase!

Behind the next tab is all the information I need about our upcoming house move. I have Filofax to do pages, Filofax week on two pages, Filofax contacts pages and grid paper to record costs.

Finally I have my finance section. There is a lot in this section and all of it used regularly to track various different things but I have found that having this section in my planner means I use it and also stay more on track of finances. I used to have a separate filofax for finances but found I never used it!

I use Sewmuchcrafting bill tracker sheets to track monthly spending such as groceries and fuel.

I also use bill tracking inserts from Just So Stationary to track regular payments such as gas and electric bills. I also have some Savings Tracker sheets and Debt repayment sheets from Sewmuchcrafting.

I also have online purchase sheets from Sewmuchcrafting and wish list sheets from Just So Stationary. The online purchase are a great way to track what you have ordered, when it ships and when it has arrived. I must really fill in the Wish List pages and leave them lying around for my husband to see! I also keep a list of things I currently have for sale and when they are sold/posted.

I use a dashboard as a page lifter. I don't currently keep anything in the back pockets. The Siena has two pen loops which is a brilliant design feature, the left one being wider and fits a four barrel Coleto in.

Finally a photo of this page marker that I adore!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this set up post! I have also started a YouTube channel and uploaded a video of my current set up.

Have a great few days/weeks! Am going to try and post more regularly in the coming weeks, with a blog post and video!

Filofax Pennybridge

I used to own a Filofax Pennybridge but I sold it, as with most planners I sell I ended up regretting it! I sold my Pennybridge after I stopped using it as I bought a Zipped Malden, but I never liked the zip on the Malden and have since sold that too. Last week I started thinking about owning a Pennybridge again and using it as a wallet and financial planner and so off to the internet I trawled until I found a great priced new one. Two days later and it arrived!

I have spent the past two days setting it up and decided exactly what to use it for.

My main planner is a Gillio Compagna. I have so much in my Gillio, most of which I don't need to carry about with me and so I am going to trial something I have not done before, using a satellite planner in my bag. I am also going to use my Pennybridge as my wallet as it is perfect for this.

Exactly the same colour as my previous Pennybridge, I added a charm on the zip pull from charms out of my HappieScrappie Planner Kit.

The wallet section of the Penynybridge is brilliant, with 14 card holders in total and space for cash and coins.

Lovely long zip pocket for cash.

After my dashboard I have a week on a page with notes by Just So Stationary.

This is a perfect layout for on the go planning.

Then I have a section where I track my online purchases (inserts are by SewMuchCrafting on Etsy) and my Wish List (inserts are by Just So Stationary).

My next section is for bill tracking, savings and debt repayment, I haven't included a photo because all the inserts are written on.

My last section is where I track everything I spend money on (inserts are by SewMuchCrafting on Etsy). I have a top loading envelope to put receipts in until I have jotted them down and then they go in a binder at home.

I also a few pages of note paper just incase I need to write things down.

At the back of the planner is a large slip pocket which I am not sure how I am going to utilise yet!

I am going to use this for the rest of May and see how it goes and will follow up with another post about how it worked and if I am still using it in the same way!

The waiting game!

About ten days ago I ordered a new Travellers Notebook cover, I sold my Gillio Giramondo and was happy to wait the 2-3 weeks for my new cover to be made and shipped.

The beautiful Epoca Purple Gillio Giramondo that has now gone to its new home!

That was then and now I think that time has stopped! I must have swapped binders and binder styles at least 3 times each day. TN to personal rings to pocket rings and back again in a repeating cycle that is driving me crazy! I am driving all those that know me crazy as I wait for this new cover...I have spent a small fortune on pocket dividers and inserts and then bought the same dividers for personal sized rings and then decided I don't like my planning pages and so ordered different ones and then this morning I moved back into a TN from personal Filofax that I moved into yesterday...I need help as at one point I considered giving them all away!!!

Below are some of the planners and things I have used in the past few days!

The extremly cute Filofax pocket in the design Tweet that I have been using in my bag, there is a month on two pages, a week on two pages and note paper inside.

The trifold notebook cover from Jonelifish I bought second hand to try and curb my planner need, it is filled with a month on two pages, a notebook to use a bullet journal, my journal and my migraine diary.

Stunning dividers for my pocket (I have also bought these in personal size) from LeafyLaneDesigns on Etsy. These reside in Tweet.

Gorgeous page markers from AtelierDays on Etsy, used in Tweet to mark my month, week and blank note page.

A plethora of personal size planners I have moved into and out of in the last few days (Gold Filofax Saffiano, Cobalt Kikk K, Kate Spade Snap, Purple Filofax Malden). Currently in the Kikki K...but not for long as I have new personal size on the way as well as new insert and dividers 🙈

I am quite certain that a lot of people will understand my cycle of planner misery and even planner fail when the planning system just isn't working. I am currently writing everything down in three different planners just because I cannot decided which I want to use and I know that long term, or even short term, this is just not going to work. And so I need to make a decision and stick with it...rings or no rings that is the question and I have no idea of the answer, possibly a list of pro's and cons would be the way to go!

Have a great week!
